Helen qualified from Liverpool University Dental Hospital in 1992. She currently works in South Liverpool for 3 days a week where she has been a member of the team for nearly 29 years. She is the lead Hygienist there and works alongside a team of 8 other dental hygienists and dental therapists. She also works along side both specialist and general dentists. The practice is a general and referral practice, where there is a team approach to patient care.
Helen presents both nationally and Internationally. Her subjects are dental Implants and their issues and also Periodontal disease its treatment especially through a team approach. After 20 years out of Education, Helen embarked on a part time degree course at the University of Lancashire. (U.C.L.A.N) December 2013 saw her graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Dental Studies. She is also a Past President of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT). Helen is a volunteer Coach and Mentor for BSDHT’s coaching and mentoring programme. She still represents the society by visiting the universities to talk to the students, promoting the society and how it can support them. She is passionate about the profession and the role we play in healthcare and promotes the need for a more cohesive working environment among all team members and a better understanding of each other's roles.
Outside of Dentistry Helen is married, with one daughter. She has a love for the outdoors, walking her dogs and travel.
